It was good to get back on the road with the Dynamic Catholic events team. I left West Palm early in the morning of 9/14 to meet up with the team in St. Louis. Our first event of the weekend was in Cape Girardeau at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church on Saturday morning. The set up on Friday went smoothly. On Saturday the event was flawless and the weather cooperated nicely! Thank you, Fr. Rick, Cheryl, Lyn and the whole St. Vincent team for hosting us!
After the event we packed up and drove the 4.5 hours to Branson, MO by car. It was a great day for a road trip; and, the views of the Ozarks as the sun set in the west were spectacular! A late sound check at Our Lady of the Lake rounded out a long Saturday. I retired exhausted but with a grateful heart and a feeling of great accomplishment!
After being able to sleep in a bit on Sunday morning, the team joined the parishioners of Our Lady of the Lake for the Sunday morning Mass. It was a truly beautiful celebration and our hosting priest, Fr. David, gave a great homily! After a short break, I finished the final set up and we started our second event in 3 days…the crowd was warm, friendly and responsive…they were definitely ready to Find Their Greatness!
After our second event, Fr. Dave hosted us to a tremendous dinner party! It was a special evening complete with friends, libations, great food and wonderful conversations. We were very sad to have to leave so soon but we were all flying out early on Monday morning from the airport at Springfield. Another weekend for the history books but the memories will last a lifetime…and beyond!
